What is Almaden?

There are several groups/associations on the (Almaden Community web page) who are not in Almaden, per say.
It always amazes me how many people want to creep in on the 95120 zip code, and when they can't accomplish that,
then they use Almaden Expressway as a reason.

I remember several years ago when Ponderosa built some homes off of Coleman & Santa Teresa and called them
'something of Almaden' - or - 'Almaden something', and in those days it only took one phone call and they changed their
sign.  Also, since the feed store An-Jan on Branham Lane at Almaden Expressway is near the expressway, they call themselves the
Almaden store.  Also, the homes off Branham by the Post Office (part of the old Desin Ranch) had an Almaden name
in their tract and even advertised for prospective buyers to buy one of their homes in beautiful Almaden.  Same story
about the newer housing tract on Blossom Hill that was built on the old winery property.

As you know, there is a big, big difference in the prices of Almaden vs. Cambrian or Almaden vs. Blossom Valley, and I am glad to see the Web page "About Almaden" stating that the 95120 zip code IS Almaden.
